Adult Orthodontics

The purpose of orthodontics is to realign or reposition teeth. Braces are usually used to achieve this end. Braces are comprised of brackets that are bonded to the teeth and wires which are threaded through and used to guide each tooth to their ideal position. There are a variety of braces available: metal braces, clear plastic braces and ceramic braces which resemble the natural tooth.

Having straight teeth is important for both health and appearance. Dr. Marisa Fenoglio, our latest addition to the team, is an Orthodontist, specially trained to treat adults.

Conventional Orthodontics

Conventional Orthodontics utilizes braces to realign teeth. Braces consist of brackets that are bonded to the teeth, and wires that are threaded through the brackets. The wires function as guides to reposition each tooth to its proper position. There are several types of orthodontic braces available, including the more traditional stainless steel (metal) braces, ceramic “tooth-colored” braces, and clear plastic braces.

Invisalign

img_Invisalign1We are proud to introduce Invisalign to you. Invisalign can give you the beautiful and healthy straight teeth you’ve always wanted. It works through a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 to 5 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. You’ll visit us only about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

The days of conventional metal braces are gone. Today, we can achieve excellent results with almost-invisible-clear braces or with Invisalign.

Many patients’ conditions lend themselves to treatment with Invisalign. However, some situations do not. Please call our office for a free consultation to find out if Invisalign is the right choice for you.

Our adult orthodontics patients visit us from Cambridge, Boston, Somerville and Harvard Square, MA.
